Path of the Gods

The Path of the Gods is a scenic hiking trail that winds along the mountainous ridge of the Amalfi Coast, connecting the Agerola area with Nocelle, a village high above Positano. It is one of Europe's most iconic trails, offering a unique combination of natural landscapes, sea views, and historic rural heritage.

The trail extends at varying altitudes, overlooking the entire coast from above, offering a continuous and spectacular view of the Tyrrhenian Sea. The route alternates between dirt paths, ancient stone mule tracks, and passages immersed in Mediterranean vegetation, with typical aromatic plants such as broom, myrtle, and rosemary. The contrast between the green of the mountains and the intense blue of the sea is one of the most distinctive elements of the experience.

Along the way, you'll also encounter evidence of traditional rural life: dry-stone walls, cultivated terraces, and old farmhouses that tell the story of the area's agricultural history, built over centuries with great adaptation to the rugged terrain. The trail is well marked, but has some exposed sections that require caution and a minimum level of physical fitness.

One of the most captivating aspects is the constant view of some of the most famous spots on the coast, such as Positano and its pastel-colored houses nestled on the cliffs, the Li Galli islands, and, on clear days, the outline of Capri on the horizon. The silence, interrupted only by the sounds of nature, helps make the trail an immersive and rejuvenating experience.
