The Li Galli Islands are a fascinating archipelago located off the coast of Positano, in the heart of the Amalfi Coast. Made up of three islets—Gallo Lungo, La Rotonda, and Dei Briganti—these islands are renowned for their pristine landscape, turquoise waters, and exclusive atmosphere, making them one of the most evocative places in the Mediterranean.
According to tradition, Li Galli is the mythological home of the sirens described in Homer's Odyssey, who enchanted sailors with their song. This connection to myth still contributes to the archipelago's mysterious allure today. Over the centuries, the islands have hosted watchtowers, ancient villas, and private residences belonging to illustrious figures, including the renowned Russian choreographer Rudolf Nureyev.
The islands are not normally open to the public, but can be admired from Positano, from the scenic coastal paths, or during private boat excursions and tours along the Amalfi Coast. The surrounding waters are particularly popular for snorkeling, swimming, and landscape photography, thanks to the clear seabed and the extraordinary natural beauty of the place.
